Burts Chips renew Exeter Chiefs sponsorship
Building on the success of its Do It Right campaign, partnered with local testicular cancer charity, It’s in the Bag, award-winning premium snack producer Burts Chips has furthered its regional influence announcing its sporting sponsorships for 2015.
Looking to appeal to its key male demographic, Burts is announcing its sponsorship of the Exeter Chiefs, which will roll out alongside a series of other teams including; Motorbase Performance BTCC Team, Plymouth Argyle FC, and the Plymouth Raiders basketball team.
Kicking off at the start of the upcoming season (November 2015 – April 2016), Burts Chips will renew its sponsorship of the Exeter Chiefs, the West Country’s Premier Rugby Club.
In addition to Burts being the exclusive crisp brand available at Sandy Park Stadium, home of the Exeter Chiefs, Burts will also sponsor Moray Low, Exeter Chief’s prop. Low will be promoting the brand through media appearances, strengthening Burts’ outreach to its key male customer demographic. The Exeter Chiefs players have also been involved with the It’s in the bag charity calendar as part of Burts’ Do it Right campaign, due to be released this September.
With over 10 million UK viewers throughout the season and 11,000 spectator capacity at the stadium, the club’s support shows no sign of letting up with its best finish to date in the Premiership in the 2014-15 season. Further to this, Sandy Park will play host to three Rugby World Cup fixtures. This will increase its already growing footfall in light of its recent success and encourage the trial of Burts’ tasty crisps by new customers visiting the stadium, providing Burts with strong outreach to loyal and new customers.
Chris Bentley, Corporate Sales at Exeter Chiefs, comments: “We can’t wait for another successful year alongside the team at Burts Chips. It’s fantastic to have a local brand on board that shares the heritage of the South West and we’re confident that our customers will love the delicious crisps as much as we do – my personal favourite is Sea Salt and Malted Vinegar!”
Simon Knight, Marketing and Sales Director at Burts Chips, adds: “We’re delighted to announce our sponsorship agreements with all four of our sporting partners for the 2015-2016 season. Having grown up in Plymouth, these South West sporting teams are particularly close to my heart and now to be able to contribute to their success is a fantastic personal, as well as professional achievement.
“In terms of brand philosophy, we certainly share their passion to always ‘do it right’ and be the best. Crisps are the food of choice for many when watching their favourite sport and sporting events are an excellent platform for us to offer our tasty and flavoursome snacks to loyal customers and introduce them to those away fans less familiar with the brand.”
All sponsorships will be integrated into the brand’s wider marketing, PR, social media and digital campaigns for 2015/16 in the form of consumer competitions and additional sporting activities.
