Women business owners training Day to be held in Exeter
A one-day training event aimed at women business owners is welcoming managers and owners to register their place.
The course called ‘Brand Me 2’ is aimed at small business owners and managers who want to learn how to use their brand more effectively. Training will be given by experts in brand management, digital branding, personal image and effective speaking.
It’s run by Women's Development Unlimited (WDU); a not-for-profit company based in Exeter, which provides women-friendly business support, training and personal development services to help women develop the confidence, skills and knowledge to reach their potential.
The day includes:
- Learning how to create your own brand guidelines
- Branding yourself online and how to create an effective social media strategy
- Pumping up your brand through personal presentation
- How to win business by projecting a clear brand when speaking.
The day will be led by business professionals from some of Devon’s leading companies.
WDU provide accessible, 'just in time' support for women in business, taking into account their personal and professional needs.
Women are offered training, coaching, mentoring, action-learning and networking in local women-only groups. Support packages provide women with practical skills and vital business know-how.
WDU ran the Devon County Council funded Fast Track 4 Growth programme, which attracted business women from around the county. It ran for over twelve months until April 2013 and was geared to help women build their businesses, learn key skills and network. The programme was oversubscribed and successful in exceeding all funding measurement criteria.
Survey results show that business women taking part have increased confidence and higher levels of business and personal skills: 93% would recommend WDU to other businesses.
The day is being held on 21 May at the Fresha Café in 23 Bittern Road, Sowton Industrial Estate Exeter.
