Exeter Quay footbridge reopens
The Mallison footbridge at Exeter Quay has re-opened to pedestrians and cyclists following temporary repairs to the structure.
Exeter City Council was forced to close the bridge earlier in the month because of safety concerns after an inspection revealed some rotten timbers.
The bridge carries pedestrians and cyclists over a leat beside the River Exe, from nearby Exeter Antiques Centre on the Quay to Samuel Jones Smoke & Ale House on the opposite bank.
The Council will look at a permanent replacement as part of a potential enhancement to the riverside walk. Discussions are planned with various stakeholders.
