Police in Exeter are appealing for witnesses after a 19-year-old man was assaulted in the St Thomas area of the city.

The victim was assaulted by two males, believed to be teenagers, as he walked passed them in the subway at Cowick Street on Sunday 19 July at around 5.30pm.

One of the suspects pushed the victim to the ground and then jumped on his back while he lay there.

The victim, from Exeter, did not suffer any serious injuries but was left feeling shaken by the unprovoked attack.

The suspects are described as white males, aged between 15 and 18. One of them is believed to have blond shaved hair and was wearing a grey hooded top with black Puma tracksuit bottoms. They are both believed to have been drinking in the area around the time of the incident.

PCSO Edward Mitchell, covering the Mincinglake area, said: “This incident occurred at a reasonably busy time of day in an area where there were lots of people around.

“We are hoping that passers-by who may have witnessed the incident, or know who the teenagers are, will get in touch.”
