Exmouth businessmen Marcus Di-Vincenzo and George Fereday have joined forces to create a new, pioneering renewable energy firm, MIG Renewable Technologies.

Ex-Royal Marine Marcus, who lives in Exmouth and owns and runs two successful security firms, decided to team up with George to utilise their different skill sets to help the general public get to grips with the benefits of renewable energy.

George, who is originally from Germany and has lived in Exmouth for 16 years, set up his firm, Solar Eco, just over five years ago and has been installing domestic and commercial solar installations throughout Exmouth, Exeter and the surrounding areas ever since.

When the pair first met to discuss a solar installation on Marcus’s Exmouth property, they soon realised that they shared the same vision and enthusiasm for renewable energy, particularly solar panels.

It was clear from the outset that their combined skills would enable them to reach out to a much wider audience of property owners and businesses in the South West and educate them on the financial benefits of solar energy as well as the environmental benefits.

As a result, MIG Renewable Technologies was born in July this year and the company has already completed a whole range of installations across the county including commercial installations at St Thomas Cricket Club in Exeter and Woodbury Farm and a number of residential installations in Exmouth, Talaton and Exeter.

Having completed renewable energy training in Bavaria, under the watchful eye of the technically advanced German solar specialists, George decided to bring his expertise to the UK.

George said: “I am thrilled to be working with Marcus. We both want the British public to understand the benefits of having a solar installation. Our priority is for our customers to understand how the system works, how much energy it will generate, how much they will save in electricity bills and how much they will reduce their carbon emissions. It’s as simple as that.’

He continued: “We offer free feasibility studies that help to accurately demonstrate how much energy each individual system could generate. There are so many opportunities available for people to generate their own electricity but often people are too confused by the technical details to understand it.”

MIG Renewable Technologies is now based in a unique showroom at Liverton Business Park in Exmouth where there are several solar panels on display alongside a calculator that demonstrates the potential amount of energy generated in real-time and the associated financial savings.

Marcus said: “The showroom provides a base where we can invite customers to come and see the panels themselves and witness the promising energy generation and potential savings that can be made with even a small scale installation.

He continued: “People don’t realise that they could slash their electricity bills in half, at the same time as saving the planet. I want people to start seeing the real potential behind renewable energy. The return on investment for a solar installation is greater than most bank accounts with high interest rates.”

MIG Renewable Technologies is part of the MIG Group and is an accredited installer of renewable energy systems for commercial businesses, landowners, farmers and domestic properties.

Marcus and George are on a mission to help the people of Great Britain to meet the government’s 2015 energy targets by reducing carbon emissions. They will visit any property in the south west to talk about how they can help your reduce your properties running costs.
