Daredevil Ant to skydive for St. Loye’s Foundation

Extreme sports fanatic Ant Gange has chosen training charity St Loye’s Foundation as the beneficiary of his latest daredevil stunt.

27-year-old Ant, who is deaf, has a history of outdoor challenges including snowboarding in the French Alps, skydiving with the Army parachute Association and ‘parapenting’ or running off the side of a mountain with a parachute and looking for thermal updrafts to keep flying! Ant’s latest undertaking is a skydive to raise funds for the charity where he is currently training.

St Loye’s Foundation provide tailored training and support for people with disabilities, learning difficulties and long term health conditions including helping ex-services personnel.

Ant Gange said: ”I love anything which challenges me and I'm not scared to try anything! I love snowboarding, parachuting and all extreme sports. I did a tandem skydive with Army Parachute Association, which was from 12,000ft and I loved it, so am excited that the jump for St. Loyes is even higher at 15,000 ft and a bigger challenge!

“I am currently training at St Loye’s doing land-based skills and I hope to get a job in tree felling when I finish. I love working outside and the staff and training have given me the skills to work towards a job where I can keep busy and active working hard outside where I love to be.

“The staff at St Loye’s have helped me look at my goals and to take the right steps towards achieving them. I now feel confident that when I finish I will have the skills I need to apply for the right job for me.

“I have decided to do a charity skydive to raise money for St Loye’s so that I can give something back to say thank you for all the help they have given me.”
