Cofton Holidays to host ‘fang-tastic’ events programme during October half term

Multi-award winning Cofton Holidays has announced a Spooktacular programme of events for little monsters this Autumn.

As Halloween creeps closer, Cofton has announced a range of activities perfect for keeping the kids entertained this half term. From Wednesday 24th to Wednesday 31st October 2018, children staying at Cofton Holidays can enjoy fang-tastic magic shows, pumpkin carving, ghostly parties and much more.

On Wednesday 24th and Wednesday 31st October, Halloween fanatics can get crafty in a pumpkin carving session. Kids can get stuck in to creating the spookiest and most gruelling pumpkins Cofton has ever seen. The session will be followed by Spooky Face Painting and a Halloween Party in the evening. With boys and girls dressed to scare, the party is set to be a frightful night.

On Friday 26th October, international magician and laser illusionist Ollie Collins will be putting on a spell binding show. Ollie is set to wow the audience with his incredible magic, guaranteed to leave you asking “how did he do that?” With his innovative approach to magic, Ollie’s unique show is one you need to see to believe.

In addition to the ghostly events, this half term sees the final of Cofton’s Got Talent. The much-anticipated competition will see the winners from all rounds throughout the year come together to compete one final time for the big trophy.

Pumpkins and Potions at Powderham Castle

Only three miles away from Cofton Holidays, Powderham Castle has a spooky treat in-store for kids this half term. From Sunday 21st to Friday 26th October, the witches and wizards from Pocket-watch Theatre Company will be returning to the historical castle with a potions class, crafts and games. Feeling brave? Make sure you join one of the Spooky Tours around the castle to experience Powderham’s haunting tales first hand. Potions Class will run daily at 12:30pm and 2:30pm. Spooky Tours run daily at 11:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm and 4pm.

Crealy Halloween

Cross the River Exe and venture into Crealy Adventure Park’s biggest Halloween event ever. Taking place from Monday 22nd to Wednesday 31st October, a jam-packed events programme will have you quivering in your boots. New for 2018 is the Scarecrow Scare Maze, which is bound to have you in a spin. The Creaky Hotel is re-opening its doors and is spookier than ever and the Treehouse Trolls are waiting in the wilderness to give prizes to whoever correctly answers their tricky riddles. End the half term with a bang on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th October when Crealy’s annual Firework Extravaganza will light up the night sky.

Kids for a Quid on the South Devon Railway

Soak up the fiery colours of autumn from the comfort of a grand steam train as you enjoy a ride through glorious South Devon countryside. From Saturday 20th to Friday 26th October, South Devon Railway is offering the chance for kids age 3-15 to travel for just £1. With steam trains running all day, families can enjoy an affordable day out this half term, creating memories that will last forever.

Halloween Fun at Becky Falls

Explore an ancient woodland park in the heart of Dartmoor this half term and be enthralled by the beauty of nature. Becky falls will be hosting fun pumpkin carving sessions and special effects scary scars. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet (and touch) the park’s snakes and lizards in the exclusive ‘Animal Encounters of the Scary Kind’ show.

Cofton Holidays is a multi-award-winning holiday park located close to the Exe Estuary and the seaside town of Teignmouth where 2017 film The Mercy, starring Colin Firth and Rachael Weisz, was filmed.
