Murder investigation launched in Exeter

Officers were called to Bridge Court, Exeter by ambulance staff, just before 1.50am on Friday 17 March, following a concern for welfare of a man. The 47 year old man originally from Liverpool was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Formal identification has not yet been carried out and next of kin have not yet been informed.

Following this unexplained death detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Team launched a murder investigation.

A 19 year old male has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently assisting detectives at Heavitree road police station with their enquiries.

Detectives  are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed a disturbance on the morning of Thursday 16th March in the Colleton Crescent area of Exeter, or  anyone who may have information that could assist with their enquiries.
