Victoria Inn in Exeter reopens after refurbishment
Local community hub the Victoria Inn in Exeter, has reopened its doors to customers, after a refreshing uplift, following a £250,000 investment from the award-winning Craft Union Pub Company.
The newly renovated pub will also be hosting a grand launch party across the 8th, 9th and 10th September.
The local favourite has received a full facelift throughout, with the investment providing the pub with a welcome transformation, creating a brighter space to enjoy a drink, or two, with friends and family. The pub will now stock an elevated drinks range, with lots more options now available including Beavertown craft lager, and Madri lager, as well as a great range of cask ales, wines, and spirits. The new Operators are incredibly passionate about real ales and are very excited to bring the new range to the pub!
As well as the uplift throughout, there are now new Operators at the helm! Mark and Vic Major are extremely excited to be running a Craft Union venue and are aiming to bring a whole host of weekly entertainment to the newly renovated pub. As well, the duo will continue to raise money for the ‘Over and Above’ charity, which helps fund projects to support and make a difference to the lives of patient’s families and staff at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Mark, the new Operator at the Victoria Inn, is an avid sports fan, and with the pub just a five-minute walk from the Exeter City ground, customers can expect the pub to become the number one spot as the home pub for at-home games. Mark is also an FA referee and has worked extensively with grassroots football teams throughout the years and is passionate about providing a great atmosphere for sports fans visiting the venue, pre or post-game! As well as this, the new Operators endorse Exeter Chiefs Rugby, so there will be no shortage of sports action to get involved in.
The pub will also cater to sports fans who can’t make it down to the stadium, with newly installed HD screens providing TNT sports and Sky Sports too, so you can catch all the latest sporting action in your friendly local!
Mark said: “We feel so lucky to have taken on the Victoria Inn, with my background in sport, being five minutes away from the local team's sports ground gives us an amazing opportunity to become a staple in the community. We can’t wait to bring together the local community for a huge range of different activities and look forward to seeing you all there!”
As well as the uplifting renovation, the pub will now have weekly entertainment running every day. Monday will be ‘Race Day’ and quiz night, Tuesday will see disco bingo take place, Wednesday and Thursday provide student hub days, and Friday, guests can get involved in karaoke and enjoy a DJ set. To see the week out, Saturday and Sunday will both be sport days, with Saturday also hosting live music nights.
The entertainment won’t stop here, the pub will be hosting a fun-filled grand launch weekend across the 8th, 9th and 10th September with some incredible entertainment for all! Friday will be a beach theme Ibiza-style party, with drinks flowing and even a magician! Saturday will see acoustic live music from 5pm, and from 8pm, the pub will host a neon party night. To round off the weekend, Sunday will be more relaxed, with live music from 4pm, and different raffles and giveaways.
Vic concluded: “We are so thrilled to be operating the Victoria Inn, and we can’t wait to get locals, students and sports fans alike involved in all the great things we have going on. I have worked in the industry and been around pubs and hospitality for over 25 years, and we are so excited to bring a whole new lease of life to this pub!”
