Wet and windy weather set to return

Just when you thought it was safe... 

Forecasters are predicting strong winds and heavy rain will return to Devon this weekend.

Gusts could reach gale force in some areas, accompanied by persistent showers.

Trick or treaters face a damp night and the wet weather looks set to continue into the early part of next week.

This is the Exeter-based Met Office forecast:

Today:

Some bright or sunny spells this morning and becoming breezy. Scattered showers will spread from the west by midday, becoming increasingly frequent through the afternoon and occasionally heavy. Maximum Temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:
It will be rather cloudy and damp with some outbreaks of rain across the region. Rain may turn more persistent in the south by morning and winds will strengthen. Minimum Temperature 9 °C.

Friday:
Cloudy, wet and windy for much of the day with heavy and persistent rain spreading across all areas, easing in the evening. A risk of gales later. Maximum Temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Strong winds over the weekend with bright or sunny spells and showery outbreaks of rain. Unsettled on Monday with more persistent rain likely.
