It was fun, fizz, and frolics at a party for over 50 guests to mark HATA’S significant 20th Birthday held at Samuel Jones on Exeter Quay.

Founded by Mary Pugsley MBE IN 2004, Hair At The Academy is a unique training programme delivering hairdressing, barbering, customer service, Math & English, supporting vulnerable young adults in and around Exeter towards completion of work-ready qualifications.

Local artist Leo Jamelli has collaborated with the University of Exeter to create a piece of emotional public artwork to be displayed in City Centre.

The large-scale artwork, created to celebrate carers, will be shown between 8.00pm and Midnight on both 20th and 21st September. It will appear on the historic St Catherine's Almshouse, on the site of the iconic ruin in the Princesshay shopping precinct.

Exeter professionals and residents from Southernhay and Magdalen Road kick-started the weekend in style with an evening of great food, live music and social networking at a special event hosted by Hotel du Vin, to launch its new series of ‘Live music in the Lounge’.

Candles on the Canal is a new event hosted by local charity Hospiscare . Its purpose is to bring hundreds of local people together for a relaxed and uplifting evening in memory of loved ones who have died, taking place on Saturday 21 September from 4:30pm. Everyone is welcome regardless of who they are remembering, how long ago their loved ones died or whether they were looked after by Hospiscare.

We are a friendly, social group who raise money to support the Hospice services that are provided in Crediton and the surrounding communities.

We enjoy organising fun, local events in the town and are proud to say we raise thousands of pounds each year to help support the local nurses who care for people in our community in their homes when they have been given a terminal diagnosis and need expert end of life care.

We hold regular coffee mornings, a Ladies Pamper Evening and support those who open their gardens for us in the summer. Our next big event is on Friday 28th June...

In 2016, Di & Sammi Rosser took part in the Twilight Walk simply because it sounded like a fun event and they felt that Hospiscare was a charity worth supporting. They could never have imagined two years later they would be walking in memory, having placed a photo of their much loved husband and dad Jeff on their memory star and displaying it, with so many others, within the special memory tent at The Maer, Exmouth.
