Britain’s top divers will be gathering in Plymouth in a few weeks time for the first national competition of the new season.

Ten of the 12 divers who represented Team GB at London 2012 will be competing in the British Gas Diving Championships taking place at the Plymouth Life Centre from Friday 8th February to Sunday 10th February.

They include Plymouth’s own Tom Daley, Tonia Couch and Sarah Barrow.

Councillor Peter Smith, Deputy Leader of Plymouth City Council, said: “We are really pleased to be hosting this year’s championships and welcoming the UK’s top divers to the city. The Plymouth Life Centre has only been open for nine and a half months but has already seen over a million visitors and won international acclaim for its swimming and diving facilities. We look forward to what promises to be an exciting competition and an impressive display of British diving talent.”

Tickets for the event go on sale tomorrow (Friday 18 January) on the Ticketmaster website.
