
Burst main affects water supply in Exmouth
Firefighters were called to a burst water main in Exmouth this morning (Sunday 11 October).
Fire control took a call from a member of the public just before 7am stating that a water main had burst on Pound Lane and that fast flowing water was causing a danger to public and traffic.
One appliance from Exmouth was sent to the scene. Upon arrival crews cordoned off the burst water main and requested the immediate attendance of a South West Water team.
Fire control contacted the police and the despatched a police unit to cordon off the road using traffic cones.
Once the area had been made safe, the fire crew awaited the arrival of South West Water and then returned to the station.
In an update this afternoon South West Water reported: "A further burst water main is affecting the water supply in this area. We have a repair team on site and further updates will follow as more information becomes available. We would like to thank you for your patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused."
