Domestic abuse accreditation for Everys’ family solicitors
Two leading Devon family law solicitors have been awarded further accreditation to Resolution in their quest to continue to resolve family disputes and to help domestic abuse victims in a non-confrontational manner.
Everys Solicitors partners Lindy Stephens and Kim Stradling, who work at the Exeter and Exmouth offices respectively, have received a renewal of their accreditations to this respected legal association.
Resolution is committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes. It is a powerful lobby group which influences the Government when making decisions regarding the proposed changes to the law affecting families. Its members follow a strict code of practice, which promotes a non-confrontational approach to family problems. Members encourage solutions that consider the needs of the whole family; and in particular, the best interests of children.
Ms Stephens is a senior practitioner and family law specialist. She has a vast experience of representing family members and children themselves within disputes that include where the children might live, what time they will spend with a parent who no longer lives at home, as well as grandparents and other extended family members. She is also experienced in representing clients in all areas of relationship breakdown and financial issues and all areas of the law affecting children including adoption. She is also a Resolution-trained all-issues family mediator.
She said: “Society today is becoming increasingly aware of the far reaching impact of violence and abuse within the home, particularly in the development of children. We offer a holistic service to both male and female victims of domestic abuse to help them in their time of need.”
Ms Stradling specialises in work involving children. Qualified as an all issues mediator, collaborative lawyer, and a member of the Law Society Children Panel, she has many years’ experience dealing with cases involving child neglect. She has seen many cases progress through the Family Proceedings Courts, and the County and High Courts.
