As the nights draw in and Christmas Decorations start to appear all around Exeter, Gandy Street’s Countdown to Christmas will start the season off with a spectacular Christmas Party.

On 22nd November, Gandy Street Traders will once again take to the cobbled street, spilling out onto stalls to welcome shoppers to an evening of Festive Fun and this year looks to be bigger and better than ever.

Shoppers can expect a winter wonderland with all kinds of treats, fudge and chocolate samples; prosecco, mince pies and mulled wine, cider and gin, not to mention offers and promotions...

On Friday, 14th December Exeter Cathedral will once again come alive to the sound of your favourite Christmas songs as La La Choirs host their sell-out concert to raise funds for CLIC Sargent. Tickets are available from the link below and are already selling fast, so don't delay getting yours!

Joining La La this year will be Kelly College school chamber choir who were the winners of the Devon Schools Choir competition, together with the CLIC Sargwnt Singers, a group of talented young musicians who met at the CLIC Sargent music programme over the summer.

Devon is truly magnificent. At last night’s annual Food Drink Devon Awards the pinnacle of the county’s food and drink producers, hospitality businesses and speciality retailers celebrated in fantastic style at the Highbullen Hotel Golf & Country Club. The ceremony was hosted, for the fourth year running, by food and drink broadcaster Nigel Barden.

Over 200 interviews in two days

Upper Sixth pupils at Exeter School took part in the school's annual Interview Scheme enabling them to develop invaluable skills for the future.

Over 100 pupils were offered two professional interviews each by friends and alumni of Exeter School.

Government gives approval to ACE Schools for new special school

ACE Schools Trust has announced that they will be opening a free school in Tiverton after its application was approved by the Regional Schools Commissioner and the Department for Education.

The school, which will cater for pupils of moderate to high ability with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) aged 11-16, is due to open in September 2019 and will be called Charlton Lodge and will be co-educational.

ACE Schools Trust was formed in 2016 as a provider of alternative education. Originally based in Plymouth, they now operate around Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall...
