Young performers in Devon are getting ready to bring traditional seaside entertainment back to the county this summer after embarking on an unusual apprenticeship.

The group have been learning the art of outdoor seaside performance such as “barking up a crowd”, escapology, blad box routines, magic and storytelling and other family fun enjoyed historically by holidaymakers. The training will ensure the skills involved in beach shows are passed down to the next generation of artists.

New research has revealed Watford as the top spot for dog adoption, in a breakdown of the UK locations with the most visits to dog shelter websites. Kennel manufacturer Benchmark Kennels has analysed the monthly number of visits to dog adoption websites across the 100 most populated UK towns and cities. These findings uncovered Watford as the most popular area for dog adoption in July 2021, with 12,799 average monthly site visits. In contrast, Belfast showed the least interest in dog adoption sites, with only 820 monthly visits on average, equating to just 0.2% of the Northern Ireland...

Exeter City Women’s FC and the Lord Mayor Cllr Trish Oliver, attended the opening of the new Travis Perkins branch in Exeter.

The branch has set up a new sponsorship deal with the club which includes a subscription to the software of the team’s new goal analysis camera and a tripod as well as programme sponsorship. A special meeting of East Devon District Council’s Cabinet focused solely on Cranbrook has considered a package of investments to support the ongoing development of the district’s newest town.
