A major new study has been published looking at the possibility of developing a walking, cycling and riding route from Sidmouth to Feniton.

The concept of the 16km multi-use route, known informally as the Otter Trail, has been around for many years but has now been explored in more detail by the sustainable travel charity Sustrans. The study has follows a community meeting last year which highlighted the need for the report as part of the legacy work of the construction of Coleridge Bridge in Ottery St Mary, which opened to the public in August 2011. Can you help catch Exmouth fly-tippers?

East Devon District Council is asking for help from the public about two serious fly tipping incidents in the Exmouth area.

The first was dumped asbestos and the other was multiple bags of dog mess that were left by a dog waste bin.

Both cases are quite unusual and officers can take enforcement action against the culprits if they can be identified. Fixed penalty notices are one option, but council officers can also prosecute if it feels that the fixed penalty is an inadequate remedy.

The first instance was the dumping of a large quantity of asbestos cement material...

East Devon District Council with partners DCH (formerly Devon & Cornwall Housing) proudly unveiled 12 new affordable flats in Mill Street, Sidmouth, last week. Many have already been snapped up, but a few still remain available to purchase under a shared ownership scheme.

Built on the site of a former motor workshop, later used as a gym, the 12...
