Following previous successful Chorister Open Days, Exeter Cathedral is hosting a similar opportunity for children on Saturday 17th November 2012. This is open to boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 9 who enjoy singing. It is a great chance for young people to be encouraged and coached by professional musicians in an inspirational setting.

The next Anglican Bishop of Crediton, the Diocese of Exeter has announced.
Reverend Nick McKinnel, 58, from the Minster Church of St Andrew in Plymouth will replace the Right Reverend Bob Evens.Bishop Evens, who has served since 2004, will retire at the end of October.
Mr McKinnel will be consecrated as a bishop in Southwark Cathedral, in London, in November.
He said: "I look forward to getting to know the clergy and congregations in this part of the diocese."
Mr McKinnel currently a prebendary at Exeter Cathedral.
Every year, since 1973, the Exeter Flotilla has held a Trafalgar Day Service in Exeter Cathedral to celebrate Lord Nelson’s great victory in 1805.
This year on Trafalgar Day, Sunday the 21st October the White Ensign will once again fly over the Cathedral.
The service starts at 11.30 am and will be attended by the Lord Lieutenant of Devon, the Lord Mayor of Exeter and the Deputy Lord Mayor, and Senior Royal Naval and Royal Marine Officers.

Hundreds of teddy bears swallowed their fears and went 100ft up in the air on a cherrypicker to do a sponsored parachute jump for charity on Cathedral Green this afternoon.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Exeter and sponsored by Burgoynes Estate Agents, the toys were jumping in aid of the children's ward, Bramble, at the RD&E, as well as fundraising for the cathedral's Third Millennium campaign.

Exeter Cathedral has recently had a Google Streetview tour produced by local photographer Peter Stephens, enabling viewers to walk through the doors and move around the Nave via a number of different images. You can then walk through the Quire, the Lady Chapel and into the Chapter House. You can also have a look in the Cathedral shop. The whole tour is made up from 30 panoramic photographs. Exeter Cathedral is promising fun for families this half term, with activities from making a stained glass window to brass rubbing.
A number of ‘Imagination-stations’ will be set up in the Chapter House over the May School Holiday.
