The Sunday Times has named Exeter School 'South-West Independent Secondary School of the Year'.

Exeter School pupil Tom Lammonby has been named Man of Series after topping the England Under 19 batting averages in their five match one day series against India. Film producer and 2014 leaver Owain Astles is working on a film which will be premiered at the Exeter Phoenix's Two Short Nights Film Festival on 1st - 2nd December and is keen to seek funding. The Hardest Fight is a short film, commissioned by Exeter Phoenix, which follows a young boxer struggling with depression, in the lead up to their first fight. An Exeter School alumnus is celebrating co-running his third annual Summer Film School which was attended by 25 young people, including pupils from his old school.
1998 leaver Philip Symes is part of Four of Swords Theatre and, together with business partner Sarah White, runs the successful Summer Film School at Poltimore House just outside of Exeter.

As Exeter School commemorates its 20th year of full co-education, it is celebrating a set of excellent A-level results, with a 100% pass rate.
Thirty-nine pupils scored three or more A* or A grades, with 23% of all results at A*. 61% of all grades were A* or A, with 91% at A*, A or B.
Head Boy George Milner scooped four A*s, securing his offer to read Medicine at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. George was selected for the U17 Junior Hockey Regional Performance Centre and played for the school 1st XI in the West Indoor Hockey Finals.

Exeter School pupils studying Design Technology have enjoyed investigating the possibilities of 3D printing to make cast statuettes for a new Exeter School prize. Year 9 pupils have cast silicon moulds from 3D printed masters to cast the statuettes in the form of the ‘Blue Boy’. One of the original ‘Blue Boy’ statues is situated at the spot in Princesshay on which the mediaeval St John's Hospital was located and from which Exeter School can trace its origins in 1633. Exeter School is celebrating the opening of its new indoor pool.
Chairman of Governors and former pupil Andrew King officially opened the pool during a ceremony on 28 June.
A generous donation from an anonymous benefactor enabled Exeter School to build the first-class, 25-metre four-lane pool for the benefit of Exeter School pupils and local schoolchildren. The Governors agreed to match fund the donation in order to integrate the pool fully with the existing sports facilities.
