InExeter announces parklet initiative to enhance public space in the heart of the city

InExeter, the business improvement district for the city, is thrilled to unveil plans for the installation of two new ‘parklets’ for the city centre. The Parklets have received £50,000 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and are being commissioned by InExeter . Scheduled for installation in early February and located on Fore Street and Musgrave Row, these repurposed parking spaces will enrich the public space experience for residents and visitors to the city.

In 1944 Sir Richard Dyke Acland and his wife Lady Anne made the decision to hand over their ancestral estates to the conservation charity as being hereditary landowners was at odds with their political beliefs. Cranbrook Arrows Netball Club is delighted to announce its ongoing partnership with Taylor Wimpey through a joint sponsorship for a second year running. The collaboration will run throughout the club’s 2023/2024 season.

New McDonalds drive-through coming to Exeter

Exeter is in line to get a new McDonalds restaurant.

The Tesco Digby store in Russell Way could soon be home to a new drive-through McDonalds.

But the fast food giant’s application to Exeter City council has already attracted protests on the grounds that it will lead to extra traffic and potential anti-social behaviour.

Exeter’s popular Volunteer Fayre is back on Thursday, 21 March for the third year running.

It brings together 60 local voluntary groups, charities and not-for-profit organisations, all of which are looking to recruit new volunteers!

Police in Devon are tackling the problem of catalytic converter thefts with forensic marking kits.

The kits have been funded by Toyota in order to support the initiative and reduce the number of crimes happening.

Offences of stealing catalytic converters have happened across Rural East Devon, Exeter and Mid Devon and local garages are now working in conjunction with police to reduce the number of thefts.
