Evofit released after Exmouth burglary

Police have released an Evofit image of a suspect wanted in connection with a burglary in Exmouth.

On Friday 12th February a man knocked on the door of a property in Greenpark Road, Exmouth at around 1pm. The man discussed tree cutting with the elderly resident who realised her property had been searched when he left.

A number of wallets were stolen containing more than £2,000 in cash.

At the fourth annual Recycle Devon Thank You Awards on Friday 12 February Jennie Dunn and her team at Marpool Primary School won the vote and were recognised for their ‘tireless’ recycling efforts.

Jennie and her team were presented with a certificate and a champagne board made from a flattened champagne bottle.

The ‘People’s Choice’ champion marks a welcome addition to the popular annual awards this year.

Work to start on new Mamhead Slipway in March

Work begins next month on a brand new slipway for Mamhead as East Devon District Council invests £1.2 million to restore the vital maritime access to Exmouth’s wonderful waterside.

When completed, the slipway will be a larger, safer and more resilient facility for people to use for decades to come. It will be able to take bigger craft with space to turn and manoeuvre off the highway. There will also be new signage and publicity to encourage people to use the new slipway when they might be using other water accesses, such as the nearby Belshers Slipway.

Businesses and residents throughout Exmouth are invited to drop off sacks of confidential waste to be shredded for only £3 a bag at a one-day event at Exmouth Imperial car park on Wednesday 24 February, from 10am to 4pm.

The new flexible shredding service will collect, shred, recycle and provide certification for each sack of confidential waste either as a one-off purge, or as part of a regular service. Appeal following daytime burlgary in Exmouth

Police are investigating after a burglar struck at an Exmouth house while the occupants were at home.

The offender walked in through the front door of the property in New North Road on Thursday 4th February, while the family was upstairs and stole a handbag.

The blue denim Kipling bag contained a distinctive apple green coloured Ted Baker purse which has a faint scratch on the front. As well as cards and cash, the bag contained an umbrella and a set of keys.

Stagecoach extends Gold route 57 sale

Stagecoach South West has announced that, due to popular demand, it is extending its sale on tickets for the luxury Stagecoach Gold route 57 until the end of February.
