Festival brings together the best of Devon

Scrumpstock Festival is set to become an annual event as it brings together musicians, entertainers, leisure businesses, causes, town dignitaries, community groups and food, drink and bespoke goods producers from Exmouth and around Devon for a weekend at Exmouth Rugby Club.

Brian Steffens from Dawlish has just joined the musical line-up. He is the father in law of Caz Steffens, the founder of the Snooky Trust, a charity that helps young adults in the Dawlish area, which is benefiting from the festival proceeds.

7th Ringtons Velo Vintage

Ringtons Velo Vintage returns to Exmouth again this summer and it just seems to get bigger and better each time.

There will be live music from three bands, cream teas, a vintage style events village and up to 500 cyclists who will ride one of two routes.

The event is making its home in the Manor Gardens, which are just a few minutes from the seafront and town centre. It’s an opportunity to step back in time and enjoy the company of like minded cyclists over a cup of tea and cake as well as lots more.

On Friday 15 May at 5pm the Mayor of Exmouth will announce cider festival, Scrumpstock, for a weekend of festivities at Exmouth Rugby Club. Exmouth’s Town Crier will also be in attendance.

Exmouth’s Mayor Bill Nash says: “Exmouth Town Council is dedicated to support interest, festival and leisure activities for residents and visitors alike in Exmouth. We welcome the Scrumpstock Festival here starting on the 15th May at the Exmouth Rugby Club and wish it every success".

Adults attending the festival can bring under 18 year-olds in for free to enjoy puppet shows by Rattlebox...

New signs show where dogs are welcome

Along with other coastal authorities, East Devon District Council has designated areas on each of its beaches for many years where people can enjoy the beach and sea away from dogs.

There are no changes to the areas where dogs are welcome, but this year the council has renewed the signs at the beaches to make the message clearer.
