Devon’s Crealy Great Adventure Park is just the trick and treat this Halloween Half Term with fun adventure for the whole family. Guests are invited to take a spooky trek through the Land of the Witches to meet the famous Crealy Witches in their haunted cavern. The Trick or Treat station is also a must visit where new terrors and goodies are lurking behind each door.
Pumpkins grown and harvested by the Crealy team will be given to all guests when visiting the Park. Guests can carve their pumpkins in the Animal Kingdom or take home to make a spook-tacular creation. Fancy dress is a...
Zoo keepers in South Devon have created Halloween versions of the animals for which they care. Staff at Paignton Zoo Environmental Park carved pumpkins with faces inspired by some of the animals at the Zoo.
Nearby Riverford Organic Farms donated several huge pumpkins to the Zoo – a registered charity – so that the keepers could unleash their inner artists.
Mammal keeper Cindy Burton was among the Zoo staff who tackled the vegetables, carving an elephant and a red river hog. Bird keepers Paul Jaques and Chas Barr carved an owl on one of the Riverford pumpkins.
Come and see award-winning author and illustrator Petr Horacek entertain us with wonderful words and pictures. His books include Puffin Peter, Silly Suzy Goose, Animal Opposites and The Mouse Who Ate the Moon. Watch his animals come to life as he draws live on stage and reads from some of his favourite picture books.

Birdwatching for children on Tuesday 28 October is a free event. An interest in nature is best encouraged at the earliest possible age – that is the firm belief of East Devon District Council’s Countryside team.
