Rufiji Leprosy Trust are very excited to be arranging a charity gig supported by the Exeter Phoenix on Saturday 25 January from 7pm.

We are looking to raise awareness of leprosy in the UK, as well as to fundraise for various projects including a Kindergartenr. Rufiji Leprosy Trust administers and fundraises for the Kindwitwi Leprosy Care Centre in the Rufiji district of Tanzania. Leprosy remains a major problem in the region, while the Kindwitwi centre assists in finding and treating sufferers and ex-sufferers, promoting self-sufficiency and educating to overcome the stigma that...

On Saturday 25th January Rufiji Leprosy Trust are organising a charity fundraising gig at The Phoenix in Exeter.

The gig features four of the most exciting Exeter bands around at the moment for an evening of funk, soul, indie and rock. The Beacons have been featured on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks, Moscow Magazine are regularly played on BBC6 Music, and Lion The Weak and The Rotten Apple Orchestra both feature UoE students.

Exeter Corn Exchange announces spring programme

Exeter Corn Exchange has announced details of the new events programme for spring.

Highlights include the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, stars from TV’s Strictly Come Dancing, the Vienna Festival Ballet, comedian Jon Richardson, X Factor winner Joe McElderry and Ruby Wax.

All recitals are free, and they include a wide variety of types and styles of music performed by professional/semi-professional musicians, young performers, local musicians and others.

Singer Charlotte joins the Skin Angels

Exeter based singer and songwriter Charlotte Ward, has joined local campaigning beauty therapists the Skin Angels, on their crusade to educate young people about looking after their skin.

Charlotte, who is 15 and has made it through to the national finals for the UK Open Mic competition, has become an ambassador for Skin Angels and will be working with the team to promote year round protection against the sun as well as talking to young people about techniques to help overcome common skin conditions such as acne.
