More than 100 key business contacts from Exeter and Devon attended Sandy Park’s third Network at Sandy Park event on Thursday 18th January. Guest speaker Michael Caines MBE gave fascinating insights into his career and shared how his hard work, vision and determination enabled his dreams to become a reality when he opened Lympstone Manor nearly a year ago. 2017 sees over £7.7million invested in Exeter’s gas network

Gas emergency and pipeline service, Wales & West Utilities, is ending 2017 on a high after investing more than £7.7 million to upgrade the gas network across Exeter and the surrounding area.

The work has involved upgrading over 56,000 metres of old metal pipes to new long-lasting plastic pipes and upgrading more than 4,500 individual service pipes that supply homes and businesses. This essential work will keep the gas flowing and prepare the gas network for the future.

County Council sets out highway maintenance programme

Devon County Council’s Cabinet has approved the authority’s programme of highway maintenance for the financial year.

The Department for Transport (DfT) has awarded the Council £51.4 million for its capital budget in 2017/18. This includes allocations from the Pothole Action Fund, National Productivity Investment Fund, Incentive Fund and Challenge Fund, which will be used for planned structural maintenance on Devon’s 8,000 miles of roads - the biggest highway network of any authority in the country.

Changes to Stagecoach bus services in Devon

Stagecoach South West announced today that, starting 29 May, there will be a number of changes to bus routes on its Torbay network, including faster journey times, more connections and new destinations.

The Hop11 will be merged into the 22, which will be rebranded Hop22. From Monday to Saturday, buses will continue to run across Torbay up to every 20 minutes with one bus an hour extending to Shaldon, Teignmouth, Dawlish and Dawlish Warren. Residents are invited to an event to celebrate the completion of Network Rail’s work in Dawlish to repair the damage caused by last year’s storms and make the area more resilient for the future.
