Christmas Fair weekend at The Donkey Sanctuary

The Donkey Sanctuary is holding a Christmas Fair weekend on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November from 10am until 4pm. There will be a fantastic range of hand crafted items, festive gifts and edible treats on offer, and Father Christmas will be visiting with his donkeys.

Kick-start your Christmas shopping, or simply treat yourself, at The Donkey Sanctuary’s fabulously festive Christmas fair, which will be taking place over two days.

This October half term there will be plenty of spooky goings-on at The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth. With holiday hunts, pumpkin carving and plenty of family fun there is sure to be something for everyone.

Visitors to the Sanctuary during this half term (Monday 24 October – Sunday 30 October) can expect a range of spooktacular events, ready to get them in the trick-or-treating spirit.

The Donkey Sanctuary have organised family friendly activities from a Halloween holiday hunt, to face painting and pumpkin carving!

New foal commemorates Olympic and Paralympic Games

The Donkey Sanctuary’s supporters have celebrated the Olympic and Paralympic Games by naming the charity’s newest foal Olympia.

On 12 August a colt foal was born at one of The Donkey Sanctuary’s farms after his mother came to the Sanctuary in foal.

An online naming contest began on Facebook and Twitter and the lucky name chosen for the Sanctuary’s newest addition was Olympia.

The Donkey Sanctuary is holding an Autumn Family Craft Fair on Sunday 9 October from 10am till 3pm.

As well as a fantastic range of crafts, gifts and edible treats, there will be plenty to keep the children entertained.

Donkey Sanctuary to host bat beacon

The population of Greater Horseshoe Bats has declined by over 90% in the UK during the last century, with Devon now a stronghold for the species in the South West.

Led by Devon Wildlife Trust and supported by the National Lottery, as well as other funders, The Devon Greater Horseshoe Bat Project has chosen to partner with The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth to provide a local information hub, known as a ‘Bat Beacon’, where people can find out more about the project.

Car show set to be bigger than ever

The Donkey Sanctuary’s Car Show in Sidmouth is back on Sunday 3 July from 10am to 2pm, and it’s bigger than ever.

After the success of the first Car Show in 2015, The Donkey Sanctuary is pleased to announce that they will be running another show in July! At last year’s show they were host to over 300 fantastic cars from humble Austins to exotic Lamborghinis and this year’s show is set to be even better.
