Neff is delighted to announce Ashgrove Kitchens Ltd of Crediton as the winner of the Master Partner Bake it Yourself Award.

Held annually the Neff MasterPartner awards celebrate the very best Neff kitchen specialists around the country. Initially created to direct consumers to the dealer with the best displays who deliver expert product advice, the Neff MasterPartner awards have become an aspirational accolade for Neff dealers throughout the UK.

Neff challenged all MasterPartners to create the ‘Ultimate Biscuit’, demonstrating a creative flair for baking, a working level of cookery skill and an expert knowledge of using Neff CircoTherm technology. The judges were blown away by the diversity, creativity and, in some cases, bravery of the entries received.

Neff was proud to present Ashgrove Kitchens Ltd based in Crediton the 2013 award for the Regional Bake it Yourself award for their entry, the Ashgrove luxury cookie.

The cookie itself was masterminded and baked by Ashgrove’s showroom manager, Jackie Bourne.

She says of the recipe: “On deciding on the cookie creation I knew I wanted to combine 2 elements, a recipe of my mother’s more than 40 years old, and some local ingredients. Living in Devon, a beautiful county full of local produce, I looked as close to home as possible to source some of my ingredients.   This included the fantastic chocolate of Willie Harcourt-Cooze, as it is made in our own village of Uffculme and of course our very own Devon Clotted Cream – need I say more than just 'yum'!"

Jackie continues: “The idea for my recipe was based on one that my mother made when I was a child.  Luckily she had recorded it in a book of handwritten recipes.  This was my starting point, and I have modified the recipe by adding cranberries, nuts and chocolate, and substituting some of the butter for clotted cream.  I also tried white chocolate with less success, and a variety of different nuts.  I tried about 6 variations, until I came up with the final combination.  My thanks go to family, friends and work colleagues for testing and commenting on proto types!”

Judge and Neff’s Senior Home Economist Lynn Williams said: “A high quality entry and we loved the inclusion of a local ingredient.”

Jackie’s reward was her very own Apple iPad mini.

The Neff MasterPartners contribute to the success of the Neff brand. As an annual event for Neff, the MasterPartner awards demonstrate the brand’s recognition of value, loyalty and expertise. Over 300 Neff dealers hold MasterPartner status in the UK and MasterPartners enjoy a variety of tangible benefits that make a real difference to them in their day-to-day business.
