An award winning night for the region!
Exeter Rugby Club chairman and chief executive Tony Rowe OBE was among the major award winners at the Express & Echo's Business of the Year Awards held at Sandy Park last Friday.
Bringing together the cream of the region's business talent, Mr Rowe was awarded the night's 'Lifetime Achievement' award for his outstanding efforts not only with the Chiefs, but also with the South West Communications Group and several other businesses throughout the local area.
With over 300 guests in attendance at the home of Premiership Rugby in the Westcountry, Mr Rowe admitted he was somewhat 'humbled' by the accolade bestowed upon him.
"The City of Exeter has been a big part of my life for a number of years now," he said. "The great work being carried out by individuals, companies and organisations locally is a testament to just how vibrant Exeter is for local businesses. To be awarded this honour is very humbling and something that I take a lot of pride from."
Alongside the achievements of Mr Rowe, the glitzy event again showcased local companies and individuals who have demonstrated entrepreneurial drive, innovation and dedication to providing a quality product or service.
With Sandy Park itself currently undergoing a multi-million redevelopment of it's main West Grandstand ahead of the Rugby World Cup coming to the city next year, the rapidly growing business sector is certainly helping to put Exeter well and truly on the global map.
