The Family Mediators at Compass Resolution are only the 12th organisation in the country to be awarded the Government kite mark HSSF, Help and Support for Separated Families.

Compass Resolution Director, John Hind explains; 'Most separating couples we work with, face a huge number of uncertainties and worries as they and their families move through separation, divorce and beyond. We recognise that having to make a decision about how to separate, whether to see a mediator first or a solicitor for example and generally, whom the best professionals are to help and support them, simply adds to those worries.

Where a personal recommendation is not available, wouldn’t it be so much more comforting if, as a starting point, the couple knew that the organisation they choose has to maintain high standards of service which are clearly and publicly laid out for all to see and, for which they are held accountable by regular independent Government auditing?

This is what the HSSF mark is all about.

In order to achieve this quality mark, Compass Resolution had to demonstrate to an independent assessor that they meet a set of quality standards developed by the Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships

They had to show that;

They have a vision and strategy that includes the promotion of collaboration and reduction of conflict in the best interests of children.

That they are totally commitment to the promotion of collaboration and reduction of conflict in all that they do and, are effective in doing this.

And that their clients and website visitors report positive and helpful experiences that constantly help them to redesign services to improve them

John Hind went on to explain that; 'At Compass Resolution,we strive to achieve these standards and more, having already obtained the legal aid quality mark this year. In fact, we are busy with our next project which brings together many different family professionals around the family mediation process, in a truly integrated and inter-disciplinary way, with the purpose of helping most separating couples to resolve their own issues and sort out their own child arrangements and financial agreements, out of court and at minimum expenditure.'
