Celebrating Exeter: A New Look And Feel For Exeter's BID Company, InExeter

InExeter has proudly launched its new brand identity including a new logo, colour palette, icon designs and more, to better define Exeter’s Business Improvement District (BID) and the value it provides to the city.

Ahead of the rebrand work which was awarded to local marketing agency, Dirty Martini Marketing, the InExeter board invited Exeter businesses, InExeter members, city partners and stakeholders to take part in a survey which helped guide the brand into 2022 and beyond.

The new InExeter brand identity consists of a new logo that is strong but simple and recognisable, with the ability to represent all of the varied sectors that InExeter works across, from ‘eating’ in Exeter to ‘shopping’ in Exeter. Similarly, the diverse colour palette is made up of sub-palettes to represent each ‘Quarter’ of InExeter, from the West Quarter to Princesshay.

Commenting on the new brand identity, InExeter BID Manager, Ann Hunter said: “We are truly delighted with the brand transformation of InExeter. The investment our member businesses make in the city is rightly recognised with this stronger branding. InExeter has evolved and the new brand supports us as the leading organisation supporting and championing businesses, celebrating the city and delivering change.

With some exciting projects and plans for 2022 - 2023, the time is right to bring InExeter to life. Over the next year we will be focusing on drawing people into Exeter to explore and enjoy the city and we will continue to invest in projects which make a real difference to our streetscape. It was clear that a rebrand was needed to inject InExeter with a new look and feel which is synonymous with Exeter and its fantastic businesses - supporting our member businesses lays at the heart of all our activity.”

In the last year, InExeter has delivered a range of projects to support the city in restarting and rebuilding post pandemic, working in close partnership and effective collaboration with organisations, groups and businesses across the city ensuring its resilience and strength. InExeter recruited a Markets Manager, Lottie Stanley to work on a programme of markets across the city; funded a nine-part film series to support & promote businesses involved in the wedding trade, managed the independent gift card which saw over £23,000 gifted on cards in the last year and awarded over £10,000 of funding for community groups to support activities that draw footfall to the city.

In addition to managing the BID levy investment, InExeter delivered a host of events and campaigns under the ‘Welcome Back Fund,’ ‘Additional Restrictions Grant’ and the ‘Safer Central Exeter’ grants.

Over the next year, InExeter looks forward to a closer partnership with Visit Exeter to promote their member businesses and supporting the work of the Safety of Women at Night Charter and Safer Central Exeter programme, championing the evening economy and investing in markets.
