Exeter local ran London Marathon for wishes

Adam Clark, a Sales Manager from Exeter, completed the Virgin London Marathon on Sunday 21 April for Make-A-Wish Foundation® UK, the charity that grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.

Adam, 29, chose to run for Make-A-Wish because the company he works for, Golden Coast Spas, help the charity to fulfil the wishes of children wanting spa pools.

Adam said: “Being a Dad to two healthy children is what inspired me to give something back. Make-A-Wish is second to none so I wanted to help them to grant more wishes.”

Andy Holland, Events and Challenges Manager at Make-A-Wish, says: “We are extremely grateful to Adam for running the Virgin London Marathon on behalf of
Make-A-Wish; we hope to grant 1,100 magical wishes this year and it’s fundraisers like Adam who really help us to reach this target.”

There are currently 20,000 children and young people in the UK fighting life-threatening conditions. Make-A-Wish will grant more than 1,100 wishes in 2013, and needs to raise £7 million to achieve this. The charity receives no government funding or lottery grants – so every donation really does count.
