Accountants celebrate trainee exam successes
Partners and staff at Devon based chartered accountants Thompson Jenner LLP are celebrating after achieving a series of recent exam successes.
The achievements of five members of staff from the firm’s Exeter and Exmouth offices cover passing important accounting examinations leading to becoming fully qualified accountants.
Congratulations went to accounting trainees Stephanie Hills, Sam Laskey and Natalie Ella from the firm’s Exmouth offices, who have recently sat exams as part of their accounting training.
Stephanie, who joined the Thompson Jenner’s Tax Department in 2015, has successfully passed the Business Strategy exam as part of her training towards eventually achieving the Association of Chartered Accountants (ACA) professional accounting qualification.
This is in addition to the Financial Management and Business Finance exams she passed earlier in the year. The ACA qualification is delivered by the prestigious national accounting association the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Sam, who has also been with the firm since 2015, has recently passed two of the professional stage exams towards his ACA qualification, these being, Audit and Assurance and Financial Accounting and Reporting. Sam became Association of Accounting Technicians (ATT) qualified in early 2015, which provided him with a good basis of knowledge for his current studying.
New joiner accounting trainee Natalie Ella has passed two exams, Business Analysis and Corporate Reporting as part of her study work towards her Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification.
All of them have a lot more hard work ahead, with more exams on the horizon, but they are all looking forward to further exam successes.
Meanwhile there was more good news at the firm’s Exeter office with accounting trainee and new joiner Harriet Gibson passing two exams, Governance, Risk and Ethics and Corporate Reporting. as part of her study work towards the ACCA qualification.
Harriet has only three remaining exams to complete, which she hopes to complete by the end of the year and become fully qualified. Finally, Alastair Baxter, who joined firm’s Business Services team last year after completing a degree at Keele University, has recently passed the first two of the professional level exams, Audit and Assurance and Financial Accounting, counting towards completing the ACA qualification.
Alastair has good pedigree with Thompson Jenner already as his Corporate Services Manager mum, Janice, has over 30 years of service with the firm.
Thompson Jenner LLP’s Managing Partner, Neil Curtis, said ''I am delighted and immensely proud to see our trainees continuing to achieve such excellent exam results and many congratulations go to all of them.
