Bea sets Chilcotts buzzing!
Chilcotts Auctioneers has swelled its ranks with the addition of a new apprentice saleroom assistant.
Bea Bandyszewska, from Luppit, has joined the Silver Street auction room on an apprenticeship scheme through Exeter College. Previously, she attended Honiton Community College, studying A Levels in Health & Social Care, Business Studies and IT.
Of her decision to undertake an apprenticeship, Bea said: “I wasn’t particularly interested in going to university, but was fired up by the idea of training and working at the same time.
“I find the world of auctions really interesting, with different things arriving in the saleroom all the time, from paintings and furniture to jewellery and old toys.”
Bea, who says she was made to feel very welcome by the rest of the team, has an interest in silver spoons, a hobby perfect for someone working within the antiques trade.
“Our first apprentice, Oscar Everard, turned into a great success story, and he recently became a full-time, permanent member of staff, which we are all very pleased about,” said Liz Chilcott.
“We are delighted to welcome Bea as our second apprentice, and hope that she enjoys learning about the many sides of the auctioneering business.”
Bea has already undertaken training on PACTS, the software system used live in saleroom auctions.
