Bricks Finance to sponsor Exeter STEP event
An Exeter based business that provides bespoke loans to the regional business community is to sponsor the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) South West branch meeting in November. The event will be held at Sandy Park Conference Centre, the home of Premiership rugby side Exeter Chiefs.
Trust and estate practitioners will be addressed by Professor Lesley King, Professional Development Consultant of the University of Law and author of ‘A Modern Approach to Wills, Administration and Estate Planning’. She is also the wills and probate columnist for the Law Society Gazette.
Established in 2015, Bricks Finance is building a local community of investors and borrowers based on personal introductions, mutual trust and strong relationships. It offers local and secured lending using its own investment funds and funds from people they know. The business is creating a growing interest amongst STEP members because of their ability to provide quick decisions on loans to the executors of deceased estates.
Bricks Director Clive Banks said: “Over the past year we have provided investors with secure investments at very attractive rates and facilitated short-term loans for probate. I believe we have demonstrated that the unique nature of our business, local and bespoke, is suited ideally to the needs of STEP professionals. “Our loans are attractive to professional executors where there is no liquidity in the estate to pay for essential estate maintenance and/or IHT. As a result, we are targeting more of this business by working with STEP and sponsoring their regional event at Sandy Park in November.”
Will Michelmore, a former Chairman of the South West STEP branch and senior partner at Michelmores Solicitors added: "Bricks Financial Ltd is owned and run by three local businessmen who provide financial support as and when required, provided the circumstances are appropriate. I have found them to be extremely quick and efficient without the rigmarole that normally arises when dealing with many mainstream lenders. In consequence I have used their services for probate loans, bridging loans and short term finance to meet cash flow issues on trust matters.”
The November SW branch meeting at Sandy Park featuring Professor Lesley King will take place on Wednesday 16th November.
