New-look board for swcomms
South West Communications Group has made some changes to its board of directors with Brian Lodge becoming the new group managing director.
The former group engineering director will officially take over the role from Harry Langley, who has served the company as MD for nine years, on October 1, 2015. Mr Langley will take on the role of finance director following the retirement of Sarah Tadd.
swcomms’ CEO and chairman Tony Rowe OBE said: “Harry has had some health issues which meant his workload was becoming a challenge while Sarah has retired and set off to travel the world on her boat with her husband. This gave me the ideal opportunity to make some changes at board level as part of our wider plan to drive the business forward to a turnover target of £30 million now that the recession is in the past and business is starting to pick up.
“Our new commercial director Jon Whiley has taken on some of Harry’s commercial duties and will proactively support the sales department, headed up by sales director Sarah Flowers, to help us achieve our ambitious short and mid-term turnover targets.”
In addition, director of ICT John Holdstock and director of general operations Sean Doyle have been elevated from their non-executive director roles to full executive directorships on the board.
“I must whole-heartedly thank Harry for his contribution to the business for the last nine years as MD and his 15 years of company service so far,” added Mr Rowe. “I am delighted we have retained his expertise at board level and he will be a valuable support to us all as we enter this exciting period for swcomms.”
