Tony Hawks to speak at Exeter business dinner
Exeter Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the guest speaker for the 11th annual business dinner will be TV and radio comedian and bestselling author Tony Hawks.
Tony is the author of the bestseller ‘Round Ireland with a Fridge’ - the story of his absurd quest to hitch round the circumference of Ireland within a month... with a fridge. The book became a top 10 Sunday Times bestseller in 1998, was serialised on BBC Radio 4, and led to a six month TV advertising campaign for HARP Irish Lager. It has now sold over 800,000 copies worldwide including the US and Australia, and has been translated into several languages; Hebrew, Italian, Dutch and German.
Tony is delighted to be speaking at this year’s dinner, saying: “My partner Fran and I moved to Devon recently and I'm keen to support the region. I am also very much looking forward to meeting the Exeter business community at the dinner.”
Headline sponsors for this year’s prestigious black-tie event will be Kirk Hills, Chartered Accountants who are based in Exeter.

The annual dinner, taking place on Friday 6th November at The Great Hall, Exeter University is seen as one of the highlights of the Exeter business calendar and will welcome more than 300 business representatives from across the region.

Tickets for this event are priced at £60 per person or £550 for a table of 10 including a sparkling wine reception followed by a sumptuous four course feast featuring a delicious selection of local produce and quality wines.
