Topsham firm celebrates Harrods success
Topsham organic mattress maker Naturalmat is celebrating business success with the announcement that its products are to be stocked by world-renowned retailer Harrods.
The Devon company, which has been hand-making the finest quality mattresses and bedding from organic and natural materials since 2002 will see six of its products available in the iconic Knightsbridge store.
Founded by keen sailors Mark Tremlett and Peter Tindall, Naturalmat was born from a desire to combat the poor quality synthetic mattresses found on the boats they sailed. Working with the highest-grade natural materials they could find, the pair developed a range of mattresses that are today considered among the finest in the world.
The newly re-designed Harrods Bed Studio on the Third Floor houses beds from a range of globally recognized brands including Vispring®, Savoir Beds®, and Simon Horn. Naturalmat’s availability in the world famous store is a testament their exceptional craftsmanship.
Owner Mark Tremlett said: "We are incredibly proud to display our natural beds and mattresses in Harrods. To have our products stocked by a store so renowned for sourcing the best in the world is a real honour. It’s testament to how far the business has come since we started it almost 14 years ago.

Made from materials including Soil Association Certified organic lambs wool from farms in Devon, Cornwall and Dorset as well as cashmere, mohair, organic coir (coconut husk) and natural undyed cotton, Naturalmat mattresses are healthy, breathable, sustainable and comfortable. Harrods will be stocking a selection of beds, mattresses, toppers and headboards made by hand by a team of skilled craftsmen at the company’s HQ in Ebford.
