Visit South Devon's annual Tourism Industry Update will be held on Monday 23 November at the Langstone Cliff Hotel in Dawlish.

Visit South Devon is the official tourism body for the South Hams and Teignbridge.

The event, which is aimed at tourist attractions, activity based businesses, accommodation providers and hospitality businesses, will update delegates on the state of the tourism industry in South Devon in 2015.

The conference will also provide an opportunity to gain tips and advice from industry experts and tourism businesses on how to go for growth in 2016.

In addition to presentations on social media from experts Cosmic, and how to shine a light on tourism from PR specialist Absolute PR and Marketing, guests will have the opportunity to listen to how other South Devon businesses and organisations have succeeded in 2015.

These will include presentations from Lori Reich on how inspiring ideas led to the successful launch of the Taste of the Teign food and drink festival, and a session with Buckland Tout Saints Hotel on how they put a spin on cream teas to cook up business with a younger audience.

Stephanie Cherrett, General Manager for Visit South Devon, will provide an overview of the tourism body’s work over the past year, which will be followed by an update on the future focus of Visit Devon following its Industry Event on 19th November.

Commenting on the South Devon Tourism Industry Update Stephanie Cherrett said: “2015 has been one of the best on record for tourism in South Devon.  Visitors to www.visitsouthdevon.co.uk have risen by an impressive 21% and figures for the Autumn are promising.

"What this shows is that there is a huge appetite for tourism in South Devon year-round.  Our goal is to help businesses make the most of these opportunities in the coming year.”
