Pulling pints for the WESC Foundation Charity Pub Quiz
WESC Foundation is inviting staff at businesses around Exeter to gather their cleverest colleagues together for a charity pub quiz to help raise funds for blind and partially-sighted children and young adults.
Sponsored by LV=, the Exeter-based charity is hosting another fundraising quiz at its Topsham Road campus on Thursday 17th October 2019 at 7pm. WESC Foundation supports children and young adults with visual impairment. All the young people also contend with other additional needs such as autism, cerebral palsy and, sadly, life limiting illnesses too.
Andy Parker and Stuart Rowe from LV= recently met up with WESC Foundation staff at the Exeter Brewery Tap Room to launch this year’s quiz. The brewery’s Managing Director, Alan Collyer, was also on hand to pull the first pint.
Laurence Blyth, acting Head of External Affairs for WESC Foundation, said: “We are extremely grateful to Exeter’s business community for supporting our charity pub quiz, and especially to 2019-20 sponsors LV= who have also won the quiz several times over the years. It promises to be a fun evening whilst also raising money for the serious work that we do to deliver projects like community day services for visually-impaired young people living in Exeter”.
Spaces for team tables of up to 6 people (£8 per head) are still available. Tickets include a light buffet on arrival, and a cash bar (including local ale kindly donated by the Exeter Brewery) will be open from 6.30pm. For more information visit www.wescfoundation.ac.uk/events or telephone 01392 454200.
Money raised from the event will help support WESC Foundation projects including providing day time support, activities and respite for blind or partially sighted young adults who live in the community.
