Queen St. Dining staff don Christmas jumpers for charity
Staff in the restaurants, at Exeter’s new dining destination, were in the festive spirit on Friday when they wore their best Christmas jumpers to raise money for charity.
Queen St. Dining’s Comptoir Libanais, KuPP, The Stable, The Terrace and Absurd Bird all participated in Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 16th December to raise money for Save the Children. Staff dressed up in their seasonal gear to spread festive cheer among Exeter’s diners.
Each restaurant collected donations throughout the day and as a result, Queen St. Dining raised over £600 for the children’s charity.
The money donated to Save the Children will help provide education, healthcare, protection and food to millions of children around the world.
Andrew McNeilly, Manager of Queen St. Dining, comments: “We’re delighted that the restaurants at Queen St. Dining are embracing the spirit of Christmas by dressing up for a good cause.
“It’s important to remember that Christmas isn’t a happy time for everyone and there are people in the world that still need vital funds for basic life necessities.”
KuPP and The Stable donated all their cash tips from the day to Save the Children with other restaurants using donation jars to collect funds.
Matt Tagg, General Manager at The Stable, said: “The team and I were more than happy to wear our festive jumpers and support this amazing charity. We had some great crackers, excuse the pun! On a serious note, The Stable team was really proud to be part of this.”
Marcin Zaczynski, Restaurant Manager at Absurd Bird, said: “We hope that in coming together to raise money we have been able to contribute to a better start for a child in 2017. Not only was it a fantastic opportunity to support Save the Children’s great work, but a lovely chance to celebrate the Christmas spirit.”
Rosie Grant, General Manager at KuPP, said: “Being silly for a serious cause is a great way to raise money whilst having fun. There was a great atmosphere at Queen St with all staff members from KuPP and other neighbouring restaurant getting involved and donating for such a great cause.”
Queen St. Dining recently received a top industry award, just four months after the first restaurant opened its doors. The new tenants opened on a phased basis, during September and October, with the final restaurant due to be announced imminently.
