Police continue to investigate Plymouth train crash
Officers from British Transport Police are continuing to investigate following a low-speed collision at Plymouth railway station on Sunday, 3 April which took place shortly after 3.30pm.
A number of people sustained injuries as a result of the collision between two trains, and a total of 15 people were taken to hospital on Sunday for treatment to a range of injuries.
Detective Superintendent Gary Richardson said: “We are currently undertaking a joint investigation alongside the Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) and the Office of Rail and Road (ORR).
“We are continuing to look into the circumstances of this incident to determine what happened, although at this stage we believe that a moving train collided into a stationary train on platform 6 at the station.
“As part of our investigation I would like to appeal to anyone who was on board the train, who may have been injured, or believes they have any information which can help us determine the cause of what happened.
