East Devon District Council’s countryside winter events guide now available
Need some inspiration to keep active and outdoors this winter? Why not pick up a winter events guide which has just been published by East Devon District Council’s countryside team and is packed full of great things to do from now until April next year.
There are more than 110 events in the guide which are being delivered by the countryside team and other partner organisations including, Leisure East Devon, Seaton Jurassic and Sidmouth Arboretum.
Whether you fancy walking with a group, learning about the wildlife found in East Devon or trying a craft such as wreath or soap making there is plenty to choose from.
Cllr Tom Wright, East Devon District Council’s portfolio holder for the Environment, said: “The events guide displays the amazing opportunities available in East Devon which enable residents to stay active outdoors, learn more about the natural environment and develop skills throughout the year. It is a fantastic resource which I am sure residents and visitors will be eager to pick-up.’’
Countryside team leader (People), Tim Dafforn said: “The outdoors is not just for the summer and this new guide demonstrates that there are lots of opportunities to explore the outdoors whatever the season, and within reason, whatever the weather!
“The guide includes a number of established favourites such as Halloween crafts and Christmas wreath making as well as the chance to get involved with something new such as ‘Woodland Work-outs’ and ‘Hedgelaying’. As well as East Devon led events the partner organisations offer other exciting opportunities in the district and we’re looking forward to supporting these events.’’
The events guide can be collected at Local Nature Reserves across East Devon, libraries and tourist information centres. The guide can be viewed online at wildeastdevon.gov.uk where you can also book your place for events.
