Quicke’s announced SW Producer of the Year
Devon cheesemakers, Quicke’s, are making space in their trophy cabinet to accommodate their latest addition, after collecting Carol Trewin South West Producer of the Year, at the annual Taste of the West Awards.
Mary Quicke was one of 400 guests in attendance at the ceremony, on Tuesday 4th October. Taking place in the stunning surroundings of Exeter Cathedral, food and drink producers, distributors, restaurant, cafe, pub and hotel owners and speciality retailers enjoyed a four course lunch featuring many of the regions Taste of the West award-winning products. BBC presenter Victoria Graham, announced the winners of each category, including the Carol Trewin Producer of the Year, the coveted 2016 Supreme Champion Product Award and No 1 Place to Go.
Organisers, Taste of the West, are a unique membership organisation that was established in 1991. The largest independent regional food group in the UK, with over 1,000 members, Taste of the West promotes the incredible diversity of food and drink from Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire.
The Carol Trewin South West Producer of the Year award is sponsored by Porter Dodson, and is presented to businesses that can effectively demonstrate a positive approach to business development, the advancement of new markets and an ongoing commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Mary Quicke, the 14th generation of the family to run Home Farm in Newton St Cyres exclaimed: “This is such a significant award for us at it recognises excellence throughout all aspects of Quicke’s business.
