Nightstop is TSB local charity partner
TSB is pleased to announce Nightstop Devon as the Bank’s first Local Charity Partner for Exeter. The partnership was unveiled on Monday 30th March, by Bank Manager Raj Panesar who presented the charity with a £100 donation from TSB to kick-start their Partnership in Exeter.
Instead of having a centrally chosen Charity of the Year, TSB Partners across Britain are empowered to recognise local causes which share the Bank’s passion for helping local communities thrive.
Nightstop Devon was nominated locally for the work it does in the community of Exeter and the surrounding parts of Devon to provide housing aid to young homeless people aged between 16 and 25.
By becoming a Charity Partner, Nighstop Devon will benefit from fundraising activities by TSB Partners working in the Bank’s Exeter High Street branch. In addition, TSB is also encouraging its Partners to spend a day, when they would normally be working, out in their community supporting their Local Charity Partner with their time and / or skills.
Nightstop Devon was selected from a shortlist of charities nominated by local TSB customers and Partners. TSB’s High Street branch will now aim to raise as much money as possible for them throughout 2015 to support the work the charity does in the local community.
Raj Panesar, Branch Manager at TSB in Exeter, said: “I’m delighted to announce Nighstop Devon as our first Local Charity Partner in Exeter. Our focus at TSB is to serve local customers and businesses in order to fuel local economies, and that’s why we’re launching a new approach to how we support charity and community.
“Nighstop Devon do some amazing work in the area and it was really important to us to pick a Charity Partner that gives so much back to the community. We can’t wait to get our fundraising off the ground and work together to make a real impact locally.”
Jenny French, lead volunteer at Nighstop Devon said: “All of our volunteers work hard to make sure that we are here for people when they need us most. Our partnership with TSB in Exeter will help us even more and we are delighted with the announcement.”
In 2014, TSB’s Partners raised nearly £290,000 for charities across the UK by holding fundraising events such as cake sales, raffles and sponsored activities.
