What’s the one piece of advice you’d share with a start-up?
January’s edition of Tech Monthly on Phonic FM (to be broadcast on Thursday 12 January at 4pm) will focus on entrepreneurship and new business start-ups. We’ll be finding out about the help and support available for people looking to start up for the first time, and learning from people who have done it already.
If you have started a business (particularly a technology business), we’d love to hear from you. What is the most important piece of advice you would share with someone thinking of starting a business? It could be the best piece of advice passed on to you; or something you’ve learned along the way; or the piece of advice that you wish you’d been given when you were starting-up.
Share an audio clip of your tip with us by Wednesday 11 January; we’ll use a selection in the programme. Let us know who you are, what your business is, and the piece of advice you'd like to share. Keep it short and snappy – no more than 20 seconds. There are lots of ways to capture your audio:
- Use the built-in voice memo app on a smartphone (most have them), or use an an audio sharing app like audioBoom
- Use a web service like Clyp
- Use some computer audio capture/editing software (GarageBand; Audacity; etc)
- Use a handheld audio recorder (like a Zoom)
You can share your recording with us by emailing it to tech@phonic.fm or uploading it to a service like Clyp; audioBoom; Spreaker, Soundcloud, Dropbox or Google Drive and sending us a link. (Try to capture the best quality audio that you can – avoid noisy or windy environments, and speak clearly.)
If you're not able to share audio, you can tweet or email your tips: we’re @PhonicTech on Twitter and tech@phonic.fm on email.
Listen out for your contributions (and the contributions of others) in January’s Tech Monthly, which will be broadcast live on Phonic FM at 4pm on Thursday 12 January. The programme will be shared online and made available for download as a podcast shortly after.
