£60,000 upgrade makes Sandy Park one of the most technologically advanced venues in the region
More than £60,000 has been invested in new technology and audio-visual facilities at Exeter’s Sandy Park in a bid to make the venue the most technologically advanced in the region.
Sandy Park is renowned for its award-winning facilities, with a variety of versatile and naturally lit spaces all equipped with the latest in audio-visual technology and high speed Wi-Fi, plus air-conditioning.
The upgrade includes 15 new television screens throughout the venue, including 75” plasmas in the largest suite, the Exeter, and new permanent plasma screens in seminar suites.
To enable event attendees, speakers and organisers to wirelessly connect their devices to the screens, an Apple TV system has been installed to easily display presentations, videos and more in high definition.
A new high definition camera has also been installed in the venues’ largest space, the Exeter Suite, to enable speakers, awards presentations or other entertainment be displayed across screens, not just in the room itself, but throughout the building.
Sandy Park’s boardroom, previously not for hire, is now available for event organisers to use along with new video conferencing equipment. With capacity for 24 delegates, the equipment allows the room to be broadcast via video technology, while displaying any other parties in the video conference on the 82” television screen.
The venue has also improved its accessibility with the purchase of a new infrared hearing aid system. The system will provide a clear means for people with varying degrees of hearing loss to hear clearly when attending conferences or events.
Speaking about the upgrades, Events Sales Manager Bev Gratton said: “we are always looking for ways to improve the experience at Sandy Park for event organisers, delegates and other attendees.
“These upgrades will make events slicker, while also giving organisers, speakers and presenters more freedom to easily display high quality graphics and videos throughout the venue.
“We believe the video conferencing system is unique to the area, so hope that those in Exeter and beyond will find this a useful addition to Sandy Park.
“We are also always working to improve accessibility at Sandy Park, and the new hearing system should be a great addition to any guests with hearing loss.
“We are looking forward to working with our clients to make the most of these new features at Sandy Park.”
A new website has also been created for Sandy Park, which clearly details all of the venue’s spaces and facilities and includes a new search tool to find the ideal suite for an event. Visit www.sandypark.co.uk to find out more about the award-winning venue.
