Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted on the Quay in Exeter on Sunday 20 March 2016.

A 62-year-old man from Exeter was walking along the canal at 9pm when he was approached by two young males on bikes who then pushed him into the river. As a result, the man suffered from hypothermia and an ambulance was called.

Acting Sergeant Andy Boundy said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at this time and may have witnessed the incident.

“We know that there were people around because the man was helped out of the water by members of the public.”
