Leading local advice charity, Citizens Advice Exeter, has shared a national Citizens Advice One Service Working Award.

The Award recognises the role that the charity played, with nine other local Citizens Advice offices across the Country, to pilot the new ‘Casebook’ client management system. Other recipients included Devon-based offices in East Devon, South Hams, Teignbridge and Torridge, North, Mid and West Devon.

Warren Buckley, Deputy Chair of the national Citizens Advice charity said: “This Award recognises the work that was done in testing out new training materials for the whole network, providing timely and constructive feedback and close working with the national implementation team, and providing peer support across the network by sharing advice and experience. This enabled a huge organisational wide project to be a great success.  A true example of working together as One Service”.

Dennis Mardon, Chairman of Citizens Advice Exeter, said: “We are incredibly proud to receive this national recognition of our efforts. I was delighted to receive the Award on behalf of the staff and volunteers of Citizens Advice Exeter who work tirelessly to help so many local people at a time in their lives when they need advice and information to address the problems they face.”

Last year, Citizens Advice Exeter helped 21,847 clients with 35,713 individual problems through a mix of on-line services, self-help facilities, telephone access and face to face interviews.

The Charity relies on grants and donations to maintain its core activity and implement new projects. Anyone wishing to support the work of the charity can donate on-line by going to the Support Us section of their website (www.citizensadviceexeter.org.uk).
