Event will help you discover your inner entrepreneur
DEVELOPING an ‘entrepreneurial mind-set’ will be the theme of a networking and training event being organised for administrative staff in Exeter next month.
The event is being run by the Exeter PA Network, the networking and development organisation for all personal, executive and administrative assistants in Exeter and surrounding areas.
Key note speaker, Rachael Howourth of Momentum South West, will be encouraging delegates to develop their entrepreneurial mind-set in order to heighten their chances for success and ability to spot opportunities for themselves and their organisations.
The event will take place on Thursday, February 22 at the Hotel du Vin in Exeter, from 5pm until 8pm, and tickets cost £15. There will be an opportunity for delegates to stay for dinner after the event, in order to create and strengthen connections.
Exeter PA Network, which is run by Kim Glover, continues to go from strength-to-strength, and now boasts nearly 600 members.
Kim said: ‘The network’s focus for 2018 will be to provide its members with knowledge and confidence to enable them to step up and operate in the space of management, creating more capacity for their executives to be even more productive through operating in the space of leadership.’
Kim, who is also Executive Assistant to the Managing Partner of Michelmores LLP and a member of the Regional Advisory Committee for EPAA, the PA profession's national association, is well placed to understand the direction of travel in PA roles in recent years, and the support PAs need to ensure they are the best they can be.
She added: ‘Our aim is to support local organisations by offering a wide variety of learning opportunities and networking throughout the year for key members of their teams, at a fraction of the cost they might otherwise spend on training. This is all possible thanks to our fantastic sponsors; Michelmores LLP, Hays Recruitment, Deer Park Country House Hotel, Nettl and Exeter Gin.’
Events include monthly breakfast meetings with speakers presenting on a wide range of business and community topics, ad hoc social events and seminars. The group will be holding its annual Conference in October, with a fantastic line up of keynote speakers, focussing the role of the strategic assistant. Delegates will hear from renowned speaker and trainer, Adam Fidler.
The Network will also be attending the South West Business Expo at Westpoint on 15 March, and should be delighted to meet delegates and explain in a little more detail what they do – they will be found at stand 143.
