Exeter Phoenix chosen as Community Fund finalist
RGB Building Supplies has selected Exeter Phoenix as a finalist in its Well Built Community Fund and it’s now down to a public vote to see if it’s chosen to receive £1,000 worth of building materials.
The arts centre is a multi-art form venue providing the community with access to contemporary visual arts, digital, film music and theatre. As well as housing a number of creative organisations, the centre provides a space for local people to hold classes, and offers advice, support and guidance to artists, and those who aim to be professional artists.
If Exeter Phoenix is voted as the Community Fund winner, it will use the donation of materials to renovate its studios so they can still be offered for free, or at a reduced rate, to a wide range of groups.
Exeter Phoenix is up against Tarka Valley Railway in Torrington and the Launceston Youth Partnership.
Paul West, Branch Manager at RGB Exeter, commented: “Our Well Built Community Fund continues to prove extremely popular and once again we were inundated with nominations from schools, community groups, projects and charities from the region, so congratulations to Exeter Phoenix for being chosen as a finalist. As the local branch to the arts centre, we’re encouraging people in the area to get involved and vote for them.”
Votes can be cast by visiting RGB’s Exeter branch during opening hours and placing a chip in the relevant box, by voting in the poll that will be at the top of RGB’s Facebook page, or by emailing RGB@pmwcom.co.uk and putting the name of the group being voted for in the subject line.
The vote will take place between Monday 13th May and 8am on Tuesday 28th May. Votes cast outside these dates will not be counted. Only one vote per person via one method of voting will be counted.
The winner of the £1,000 worth of building materials will be the group that receives the most votes.
